LG Expects to Double 3G Handset Production in 2006

According to a report by Korea's Electronic Times, LG expects that it will be able to double production of 3G handsets in 2006 in comparison with 2005, reaching ten million units. The report also stated that the company will start supplying a WCDMA handset to German operator T-Mobile and France's Orange starting in March. Furthermore, market reception of LG's ultra-thin U880 handset has been quite good, stimulating the company to manufacture six to seven ultra-thin models in the first half of 2006.
